3 Tragic Omaha Accidents Put Collision Statistics in the Spotlight
As far as U.S. cities go, Omaha has relatively few fatal car accidents on its roads each year. City Data reports that there are approximately 18 fatal accidents in the city each year, and they involve up to 30 individual vehicles and 45 people. These trends have remained fairly consistent over the years, and although tragic car accident stories are not all that common, recent stories prove just how dangerous Omaha roads can be.

Omaha Crash Seriously Injures Two

According to local police, a Jeep Liberty was travelling in an easterly direction on Q Street in the early afternoon when the driver approached traffic due to another accident further ahead. He took evasive action but lost control of his vehicle. The car crossed the center median and crashed into a small Mazda sedan.
During the investigation into the accident, there was a three-car pileup at the same site. There were no injuries from the second accident; however, local authorities are investigating both to determine the causes.
