Crash Alert: 1 dead, 1 hurt in crash near Chapman
CHAPMAN, NE – An accident involving a Jeep Cherokee and a semi truck near Chapman Monday left one man dead and another injured, theindependent.com reports.
Authorities say 38-year-old Timothy Silva of Columbus was driving the Jeep Cherokee westbound on Highway 30 when it crossed the center line. The vehicle crashed into the eastbound semi, driven by 54-year-old Kular Gurdeep Singh of Bakersfield, California.
Silva was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to investigators. Gurdeep Singh was transported to a Lincoln hospital by medical helicopter.
It is suspected that alcohol contributed to the crash.
