Crash alert: Head-on collision in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – Two men were injured, one critically, when their vehicles collided head-on in Omaha Wednesday evening, according to kfab.iheart.com.
The crash occurred near 32nd and Bedford Avenue. 53-year-old Marcell Walker was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis eastbound on Bedford at high speed and slammed into a westbound Nissan Altima driven by 42-year-old Rene Brizuela-Recinos of Omaha, police said.
The Mercury then went off the road before hitting a fence and a tree. The two drivers were taken to Nebraska Medicine. Brizuela-Recinos sustained injuries to his chest and legs that were said to be life-threatening. No details were released on Walker’s injuries.
Police believe Walker was not only speeding but also drinking, and charges are pending.
