Crash alert: Scottsbluff man killed in rollover crash
SCOTTSBLUFF, NE – One man was killed and another was injured when their vehicle crashed west of Scottsbluff Friday night, according to a report by KNEB.
The accident happened at about 11:30 pm. on Spring Creek Road near the intersection of Highway 26. Emergency crews responded after a Nebraska State Patrol Trooper saw an overturned vehicle on fire. One person had been ejected and another was still inside.
A 38-year-old Scottsbluff man was declared dead at the scene. The vehicle’s other occupant, a 32-year-old Scottsbluff man, was hospitalized. His injuries were not said to be life-threatening.
Authorities say the two were not using seat belts at the time. An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident. Speed and alcohol use may have been contributing factors, according to the Scotts Bluff County Sheriffs Department.
