Crash Alert: Motorcyclist critically hurt in crash
GRETNA, NE – A motorcyclist was critically injured when he collided with a semi-truck outside of Gretna Monday night, 3newsnow.com reports.
The accident happened on an I-80 exit near Highway 31, according to the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say the motorcycle rider ran a red light while exiting onto Highway 31 from the eastbound entrance ramp to I-80. He crashed into the Volvo semi-truck as it was trying to turn south onto Highway 31.
The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man from Omaha, was taken by medical helicopter to a trauma center with injuries to his legs and arms. The semi driver was also hurt.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
