Crash Alert: Two teenagers injured in rollover crash in North Platte
NORTH PLATTE, NE. – Two teenagers suffered minor injuries after a rollover crash on Highway 83 south of North Platte on Thursday afternoon.
According to NBC 2 Nebraska, the crash occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on Highway 83 near the Prairie Mart. Eyewitnesses say two teenage girls missed a stop sign at an intersection and rear-ended a semi-tanker. The car reportedly landed upside down after the crash. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and extinguished a fire that had broken out after the car punctured a small tank on the back of the truck filled with diesel fuel additive. Fortunately, the larger tank was not breached in the crash.
The girls were transported to Great Plains Health for treatment of minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
