Crash Alert: UPDATE: Four injured in fiery crash on Ames Ave
OMAHA, NE – In an update to our earlier story, more details have been released about the crash that sent four people to the Nebraska Medical Center early Thursday morning. The incident occurred when a Cadillac ran a red light and collided with a Ford F-150 at the intersection of 34th Street and Ames Avenue early Thursday morning, News Channel Nebraska reports.
According to Omaha Police Sgt. Jason Menning, the collision caused the Ford pickup to burst into flames, critically injuring one of the passengers. Emergency responders were called in to extinguish the flames. The three other passengers were seriously injured, and all four were taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment.
An investigation is ongoing. Police would not say whether any charges had been filed as of press time.
