Crash alert: 2nd driver involved in fatal crash, report shows
KEARNEY, NE – New details have been released regarding the death of a Kearney school teacher in a June car accident. According to Nebraska TV, a police report indicated that a second driver was involved in the crash that killed Jessica Eidem.
This is an update to a previous story.
The police report was amended in the case of Eidem, a teacher at Horizon Middle School. She was struck by a vehicle while walking near the school with her husband.
The original statement by Kearney police said the victim was hit by a 16-year-old driving a Buick Park Avenue. The amended report indicated that shortly before the accident, a 17-year-old girl in a Ford Taurus collided with the driver’s side of the Buick.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
