Crash alert: 3 vehicles involved in Scottsbluff accident
SCOTTSBLUFF, NE – One person was hospitalized following an accident involving three vehicles in Scottsbluff Wednesday morning, News Channel Nebraska reported.
The crash occurred at about 10:48 a.m. at the intersection of E 27th Street and Highway 26. Police said it involved two passenger vehicles and a semi-truck.
59-year-old Fermin Hernandez was driving a Ford Expedition east on E. 27th Street when it was hit on the driver’s side by a Freightliner driven by 84-year-old William Osmotherly, which was entering the intersection at the same time.
As Osmotherly tried to avoid the crash, the trailer of his Freightliner struck a Chevy Suburban driven by 81-year-old Dale Hauck, that had stopped in a turning lane on Highway 26.
Hernandez sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Regional West Medical Center.
