Crash alert: Accident, construction snarl I-80 traffic

BIG SPRINGS, NE – Traffic was snarled in the Nebraska Panhandle Sunday afternoon due to the combination of a highway accident and some construction work, News Channel Nebraska reported.

The accident was reported at the Interstate 76/Interstate 80 junction between Big Springs and Brule, causing major backups on I-80. Adding to the traffic problems was road construction taking place in the area and drivers headed home after departing Lake McConaughy.

There was no immediate word on any injuries from the crash.
