Crash alert: Collision outside Ashland leaves 1 dead, 3 hurt
ASHLAND, NE – A collision in Cass County Monday afternoon left one person dead and three others injured, according to a report by WOWT.
The accident happened near 238th Street and Church Road outside of Ashland. Authorities said a 17-year-old female driving a Land Rover did not stop at a stop sign at 238th/Highway 63, and the vehicle was then hit by a Freightliner.
The Land Rover was split in two, and a passenger in the rear seat of the vehicle was ejected. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger in the Land Rover was taken to Nebraska Medicine with injuries regarded as life-threatening. The drivers of both vehicles were also hospitalized, but no details were released on their conditions.
The accident remains under investigation.
