Crash alert: Construction to impact traffic in Columbus area
COLUMBUS, NE – Drivers are being alerted to road construction that will affect traffic in the Columbus area. News Channel Nebraska reported the work involves patching projects that will take place next week.
The first phase will be done Monday and Tuesday, starting at the US-30/US-81 junction and heading one mile to the west. The Nebraska Department of Transportation said flaggers and a pilot car will be used to control traffic.
Another project on Wednesday involves patching on the Loup Power Canal Bridge on US 81, which will reduce traffic to one lane. Motorists are being asked to use caution when driving through the work zones.
