Crash alert: Dozens hurt by fireworks over weekend
OMAHA, NE – Hospital officials say dozens of people were injured in fireworks accidents in the Omaha area over the July 4th weekend. KETV reported on the list released by CHI Health.
A total of 31 people were treated for a firework-related injury at one of CHI Health’s emergency departments. The report showed that CHI Health Immanuel treated nine patients, followed by CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – University Campus with eight, four apiece at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy, CHI Health Lakeside, and CHI Health Midlands, and two patients at CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs.
The injuries caused by fireworks included minor burns, eye injuries, broken bones and lacerations.
