Crash alert: Driver cited for DUI in Lincoln accident spree
LINCOLN, NE – Police said a man was believed to have been driving drunk when he was involved in several accidents in North Lincoln Tuesday, according to a report by KOLN.
The 27-year-old was cited for driving under the influence following the spree that began at about 5 p.m. Witnesses told police that a Dodge truck had struck mailboxes and trailer homes at 48th and Holdrege.
Police said the truck was later seen driving erratically down a sidewalk with two flat tires, but the driver fled. That was followed by subsequent reports of the truck driving through yards and hitting mailboxes.
In all, the driver was reported to have struck three trailer homes, at least four mailboxes and a truck, police said. The person’s name has not yet been released.
