Crash alert: Drunk driving enforcement over July 4th weekend
OMAHA, NE – State troopers in Nebraska will be watching out for impaired drivers over the Independence Day weekend. KMTV reports the Nebraska State Patrol will conduct an enforcement effort that will include high-visibility patrols and collaboration with law enforcement agencies throughout the state.
The effort, funded in part with a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation, will run from Friday, July 3, to Sunday, July 5.
Police say enforcement efforts, road safety programs and increased ride-share options have all combined to reduce the number of accidents in Nebraska related to drunk driving in recent years.
