Crash alert: Lane restrictions on I-80 due to road work
AURORA, NE – Drivers are being advised of lane restrictions going into effect Monday on Interstate 80 due to road work near Aurora.
KSBN reports the work will take place on an eight-mile stretch of I-80 from mile marker 329 to 337. The Nebraska Department of Transportation said there will be a 12-foot width restriction to maintain traffic during the current phase of the project, which is expected to be completed by November. Additional work will begin in April 2021.
The construction by the DOT will include grading, bridge repair on the four bridges west of the Aurora interchange, guardrails, culverts and asphalt resurfacing. The DOT reminds motorists to use caution when driving in and near work zones.
