Crash alert: Man critically injured in Cass County
CASS COUNTY, NE – A rollover car accident in Cass County left a man critically injured. News Channel Nebraska reports the crash happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 50 south of Highway 34.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s office, deputies responded after callers reported that a car had gone into a ditch, rolled over and caught fire.
Several other motorists who were at the scene pulled the driver from the car. The man, identified as 75-year-old John Hetrick of Omaha, was listed in critical condition at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln. No one else was in the car at the time.
It is believed that Hetrick suffered a medical episode prior to the accident, authorities said.
