Crash alert: Man killed in tractor accident near Yutan
YUTAN, NE – A rollover accident involving a tractor in eastern Nebraska over the weekend left a man dead, KOLN and the Associated Press reported.
It happened at about 1 p.m. Sunday as 66-year-old Jerry Ostransky was mowing a ditch along Saunders County Road 7, about two miles west of Yutan. As Ostransky tried to make a U-turn, the wheels of a shredder he was pulling went into a ditch and caused the tractor to roll.
Ostransky, of Wahoo, was pinned underneath the tractor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office said the tractor did not have a cab or safety belts.
