Crash alert: Minivan slams into weigh station on I-80
WAVERLY, NE – One person was hospitalized after a minivan slammed into a weigh station on Interstate 80 near Waverly Thursday night.
KOLN reported the incident happened at about 6:35 p.m., when the Mazda MPV minivan struck the west side of the building. The weigh station was closed at the time and no one was inside.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to Bryan Health Center West with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The weigh station sustained significant damage in the accident, authorities said. It is used as an office and work area for state troopers. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol.
