Crash alert: Pedestrian fatally struck by pickup in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – An accident involving a car and a pickup truck killed a pedestrian in Omaha Monday afternoon. KETV reported the incident happened at 12:51 p.m. near 29th Street and Leavenworth Street.
According to police, 24-year-old Jayden Johnson ran a red light while driving a Toyota Camry and struck a Chevy Silverado. The pickup then hit the pedestrian as he stood on a sidewalk.
The victim, identified as 44-year-old Edgar Badillo of Omaha, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
Charges are pending against Johnson, police said. Leavenworth Street was closed in the area of the crash.
