Crash alert: Police investigate fatal hit-and-run
OMAHA, NE – Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead yesterday, KETV reports.
The incident happened at about 6 a.m. Sunday in the vicinity of 96th and L Streets. The victim had been found on the shoulder of L Street by a person passing by. Police responded to the scene and the man was pronounced dead by medics.
A search for the driver is now underway as authorities piece together clues, including vehicle parts that were found at the scene. Investigators also found marks on the road that indicated the vehicle struck the victim while heading westbound, then drove away.
