Crash alert: 1 dead, 1 injured when car crashes into creek
SPRINGFIELD, NE – A car crashed into a creek in Sarpy County early Wednesday, leaving one person dead.
According to the Omaha World-Herald, the vehicle, a Chevrolet Camaro, went off a bridge near Springfield just after 2 a.m. The accident happened on 180th Street near Pflug Road.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle went down an embankment before ending up on its side in the water . One person died at the scene. Another person was able to climb out of the car and was hospitalized with minor injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
