Crash alert: 1 dead, 2 injured in pickup truck collision
CULBERTSON, NE – A collision involving two pickup trucks on a roadway in Hitchcock County left one person dead and two others injured, according to WOWT and the Associated Press.
The accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 6 west of Culbertson.
The driver of one of the pickups, 61-year-old James Cannia of Mitchell, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 20-year-old Shanel Barnard of Wauneta and a 17-year-old passenger were both injured and hospitalized at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
No details were released regarding the circumstances that led to the crash. An investigation is underway.
