CENTRAL CITY, NE – Police arrested a driver following an accident in Merrick County over the weekend, according to a report by KSNB.
The incident happened on the 1800 block of Pintail Lane in Central City, where deputies arrived on the scene of a single-vehicle crash. A passenger was severely injured and transported to a trauma center, the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office said. No further details were released on what led to the crash.
The driver of the vehicle, a resident of Hamilton County, is facing charges of first offense DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Investigators believe alcohol use was a contributing factor in the incident.
