Crash alert: Kearney man killed in highway hit-and-run
KEARNEY, NE – Law enforcement agencies are investigating a deadly hit-and-run accident in Kearney Tuesday morning, according to KSNB.
This is an update to a previous story.
The victim was identified as 43-year-old Christopher S. Hines of Kearney. He died after being struck by a vehicle at about 5:30 a.m. in the southbound lane of Highway 44 near U Road. A portion of Highway 44 was shut down for hours due to the incident.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Kearney County Sheriff’s Office and the Kearney County Attorney are involved in the investigation as the search for the vehicle that struck Hines continues.
