Crash alert: Suspect arrested after crash of stolen vehicle in Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – Authorities say a man was arrested after crashing a stolen car while trying to elude police in Lincoln over the weekend.
According to KOLN, the incident began just before 8:45 a.m. Saturday when Nebraska State Patrol troopers tried to perform a traffic stop on a Bentley Arnage that had been reported stolen from a residence in northeast Lincoln.
Police said the driver then took off at high speed, eventually colliding with another vehicle near 70th Street and Cornhusker Highway and losing control.
The NSP said the driver, 26-year-old Dalton Walker of Omaha, jumped from the Bentley and fled the scene. He was taken into custody after a trooper used a taser to subdue him. Walker was taken to the Lancaster County Jail.
Walker is now facing multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an accident and theft by receiving stolen property.
The driver of the other vehicle, a Jeep Grand Summit, was not injured.
