Crash alert: SUV and semi-trailer collide on Highway 41
CORTLAND, NE – A woman was hospitalized following a crash on a Gage County highway Monday morning.
News Channel Nebraska reported the scene of the accident was three miles south of Cortland, on Nebraska Highway 41 near South 25th Road.
According to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Danielle Powers was driving a Dodge Durango eastbound at about 6:30 a.m. when she crossed over the center line of the roadway and collided with a semi-trailer truck that was going westbound.
The Durango wound up in a ditch after rolling over from the impact of the crash. Powers, of Wilber, was treated at the hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The truck driver, 39-year-old Scott Schaefer of Pickrell, was not hurt in the wreck.
