Crash alert: Woman critically hurt after struck by car in Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – Police say a woman walking in Lincoln Tuesday night was hit by a vehicle and critically injured, according to a report by KOLN.
The accident happened just before 10:30 p.m. when the victim was struck by a car on 48th Street near Holdrege Street. She had been crossing the street without a walk sign, Lincoln Police said.
First responders were called to the scene and performed life-saving measures. The woman was then taken to a Lincoln Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition with injuries that were described as life-threatening. A preliminary investigation did not reveal any signs that the driver involved had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to authorities.
