Crash alert: 17-year-old driver dies in Morrill County collision
BRIDGEPORT, NE – A collision involving a car and a semi truck claimed the life of a Morrill County teenager over the weekend, according to KNEB.
The accident happened on Highway 26 about nine miles west of Bridgeport at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday. The Nebraska State Patrol said 17-year-old Joshua Warren of Bridgeport was driving eastbound when his vehicle entered the westbound lane and crashed into the semi. Warren was thrown from his car and is believed to have died at the scene.
The driver of the truck, 47-year-old Gary Gooder of Bridgeport was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The NSP was on the scene of the wreck along with Morrill County Sheriff’s deputies. Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
