Crash alert: 41-year-old man fatally struck by vehicle in Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle in north Lincoln Monday night, according to WOWT.
The 41-year-old victim was identified as Victor Melendez. The incident occurred in the vicinity of 12th Street and Garber Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Attempts were made on the scene to revive Melendez, but he was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Police said the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident kept going after hitting Melendez. The vehicle became disabled after hitting a street sign on 12th Street and was located by police.
Lincoln Police were continuing their investigation but said no arrests had been made yet in the case.
