Crash alert: Beer truck slams into front of restaurant near Lincoln campus
LINCOLN, NE – Two drivers were hospitalized after a beer truck crashed into a restaurant near a college campus in Lincoln Wednesday, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.
Police said the Coors Light truck was going north on 48th Street just before 11:30 a.m. when it swerved to avoid a car that failed to stop at a stop sign on Lowell Avenue. The truck driver lost control and the vehicle slammed into the front of the Taco Inn, a short distance from the Union College campus.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Bryan West, where their injuries were described as non-life-threatening. No one inside the restaurant was hurt.
The accident caused roughly $100,000 of damage to the building.
Hazmat crews were on the scene working to contain about 30 gallons of fuel that spilled from the truck.
