Crash alert: Downtown Kearney streets closed for road repair work
KEARNEY, NE – Drivers are being advised of road repair work that has shut down several streets in downtown Kearney this week, according to the Kearney Hub.
The project involves asphalt milling and overlay construction. It began Monday morning with the shutdown of North Railroad Street from Central Avenue to Fifth Avenue.
Other closures got underway Tuesday morning. First Avenue was closed from 21st to 24th Streets. Portions of 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th Streets are also being shut down at various times from Tuesday to Thursday.
Vehicles had to removed from the streets prior to construction getting underway. The city’s Department of Public Works and the construction company urged motorists to use caution around the areas where work is being done.
