Crash alert: Fatal crash on Highway 92 involves motorcycles, tractor
ASHTON, NE – One motorcyclist was killed and another was injured when they collided with a tractor in Sherman County Monday evening.
According to the Grand Island Independent, the incident happened at about 7:45 p.m. Monday on Highway 92 near mile marker 333 east of Ashton.
The Nebraska State Patrol said the two motorcycle riders were trying to pass a westbound tractor that was turning onto a county road. As the tractor was turning left, the motorcycles crashed into it.
One of the motorcyclists, identified as 61-year-old Ava Bratten of Ashton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other rider, 54-year-old Matthew Bratten of Ashton, was hospitalized in Kearney. A 16-year-old male driving the tractor was not hurt.
Investigators are continuing to look into the fatal accident.
