Crash alert: Malfunctioning traffic light blamed in Hastings collision
HASTINGS, NE – A malfunctioning traffic light was a contributing factor in a crash in Hastings Tuesday afternoon, police said.
KSNB reported two pickup trucks were involved in the accident in the area of North Shore Drive and Highway 281 at about 4 p.m. Hastings Police said a stop light flashing four ways at the intersection was not working properly, with one of the lights flashing red and the other yellow.
The driver of a Dodge Ram going eastbound initially stopped and then failed to yield due to the light, police said. The Ram then collided with a Chevy Silverado. No injuries were reported.
No citations were issued in the accident. Both vehicles sustained major damage.
