Crash alert: Man under arrest in fatal hit-and-run in Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – Police say they have made an arrest in the case of a man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Lincoln Monday night, according to KOLN.
This is an update to a previous story.
The victim, 41-year-old Victor Melendez, was pronounced dead at a hospital after being hit in the vicinity of 12th Street and Garber Avenue at about 10:30 p.m.
The vehicle suspected of hitting him was located at the scene and the arrest was made the following day. The suspect, 29-year-old Hani Hadgi, was taken into custody on North 5th Street and booked in the Lancaster County Jail. He is facing a charge of leaving the scene of a serious injury accident.
Police are continuing their investigation of the deadly hit-and-run.
