Crash alert: Motorcyclist dies in collision with car in Sarpy County
CHALCO, NE – According to KETV, a car and a motorcycle were involved in a deadly collision in Sarpy County Monday afternoon.
Authorities responded to the scene of the accident in the area of 132nd Street and Harrison Street at about 4:30 p.m. Investigators said that a Mazda 3 was going westbound and trying to make a left turn when it collided with a motorcycle heading eastbound.
The motorcycle rider died of his injuries later that evening at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center. He was identified as 23-year-old Nicholas Scarpino of Omaha. A 74-year-old Bellevue woman who was driving the Mazda sustained minor injuries.
An investigation into the crash is being conducted by the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office Crash Response Unit.
