Crash alert: Saunders County commissioner and his wife killed in car crash
WAHOO, NE – A Saunders County commissioner and his wife were killed in a car crash in Wahoo late last week, WOWT reports.
The victims were identified as 71-year-old Lawrence Mach and 66-year-old Margaret Mach of Weston. Investigators said Lawrence Mach, a member of the county Board of Supervisors, was driving in the area of Highway 92 and Highway 109 Friday sometime before 7:30 p.m. when their vehicle was hit by a pickup truck.
Lawrence and Margaret Mach were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, 19-year-old Tristan Goracke of Fremont, was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Authorities said all three people were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
