Crash alert: Truck driver, teen killed in head-on collision in Waterloo
WATERLOO, NE – Two people were killed and another was critically injured in a head-on collision between a commercial truck and a car in Waterloo, according to KITV and the Associated Press.
The accident happened Friday evening near 264th Street and West Q Road at about 5:23 p.m. Officials said 40-year-old Christopher Anderson was driving a truck hauling a dumpster when he was unable to negotiate a curve and slammed into a Honda Pilot driven by 48-year-old Holly A. Koenigsfield of Sarpy County.
The car was forced into a ditch, while the truck flipped and rolled. Anderson was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Also killed in the crash was a passenger in the car, 17-year-old Ella C. Koenigsfield. She was a student at Papillion-La Vista South High School.
Holly Koenigsfield was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
