Crash alert: Collision on Highway 50 blamed on distracted driver
CASS COUNTY, NE – Authorities said a distracted driver was involved in a crash at a highway intersection in Cass County, according to News Channel Nebraska.
The accident happened Saturday evening in the area of Highway 34 and Highway 50. The Cass County Sheriff said 34-year-old Heath Lefler was driving a Ford Fusion when the vehicle crashed into a Ford F-250 pickup.
According to sheriff’s office investigators, Lefler said he was distracted at the time by the health of a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger had to be hospitalized with a possible case of food poisoning.
