Crash Alert: Lincoln Hwy crash injures NSP commander
SILVER CREEK, NE – A Nebraska State Patrol commander was injured Monday when his patrol vehicle was rear-ended on the Lincoln Highway.
KSCJ reports that the collision happened sometime that morning, near the intersection of Highway 30 and Monroe Road. The NSP commander was rear-ended by a Cadillac as he was waiting behind a car that was preparing to turn onto Monroe but was stopped as a train passed through the area.
The commander was treated for minor injuries at a Columbus hospital. He has since been released.
The driver of the Cadillac, who was cited for careless driving and following too closely, also suffered minor injuries.
