13-year-old struck by car, injured in Lincoln
LINCOLN, NE – A 19-year-old driver struck and injured a 13-year-old pedestrian in northwest Lincoln yesterday evening, KLKN reports.
The collision happened close to 800 W Dawes Avenue at about 8 p.m. The female driver had planned to confront another woman at a nearby residence, but apparently had second thoughts after seeing several other people in the area. However, as she was driving away, she lost control of her vehicle, hopped a curb, and struck the younger teenager, who was an unrelated bystander.
While the 13-year-old suffered only minor injuries, the driver was taken into custody and charged with a number of crimes, including second-degree assault and willful reckless driving.
