Crash alert: 3 hospitalized following collision of SUVs near Madison
MADISON, NE – An accident in Stanton County Friday morning sent three people to the hospital, KCAU reports.
Two vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 32 and 560th Avenue east of Madison at about 5:30 a.m.
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said 49-year-old Shawn Sawyer of Madison was driving an SUV when he pulled out from a stop sign and went into the path of another SUV going east on Highway 32.
The driver of the second vehicle was identified as 44-year-old Armando Mendoza of Madison. Sawyer, Mendoza, and a passenger in Mendoza’s vehicle were taken to Faith Regional Health Services. No details on their condition were immediately released. All three were wearing seat belts that prevented more serious injuries, authorities said.
The crash is under investigation by the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office.
