Crash alert: Alleged drunk driver charged in deadly U.S. 75 collision
BLAIR, NE – A Nebraska man has been charged in connection with a fatal accident in Washington County in October, the Omaha World-Herald reports.
Authorities say 37-year-old Christopher Gorham of Bellevue was driving a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 75 near Blair on Oct. 27 when he crossed over the center line. The pickup crashed head-on into a Subaru Forrester driven by 35-year-old Shawn Kimbrough of Springdale, Arkansas.
Kimbrough died at the scene. Gorham was pulled from his truck after it caught fire and was hospitalized.
Investigators say Gorham’s blood alcohol content was well above the legal limit. He was charged last week with motor vehicle homicide while driving drunk. Gorham was ordered held in the Washington County Jail on $250,000 bail.
