Crash alert: Driver killed after losing control of pickup near Fremont
FREMONT, NE – A driver died after his pickup truck crashed on a gravel road in Dodge County, according to the Lincoln Journal-Star.
The accident happened on County Road 24 near Fremont and was discovered Monday morning at about 5:15 a.m. The Dodge County Sheriff identified the victim as 39-year-old Ryan J. Vance of Lincoln.
An investigation determined that Vance was driving a Ford F-150 pickup south when he lost control and drove into a ditch. The vehicle rolled and struck an irrigation pivot, and Vance was ejected. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle at the time.
The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
