Crash alert: Police make arrest in fatal Douglas County collision
DOUGLAS COUNTY, NE – Law enforcement authorities have made an arrest following a fatal crash in Douglas County earlier this month, the Omaha World-Herald reports.
39-year-old George T. Plofkin of Fremont was taken into custody at his home on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with the Dec. 8 accident near Valley.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Plotkin was driving a pickup truck near 323rd Street and Reichmuth Road when he crossed over the center line and struck a Mazda sedan.
The Mazda was then hit by another vehicle and rolled over. The driver of the Mazda, 38-year-old Timothy R. Compton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said they believed that methamphetamine contributed to the deadly crash.
