Crash alert: Driver killed when vehicle collides with ambulance in Harlan County
HOLDREGE, NE – Nebraska state troopers responded to a fatal collision involving an ambulance and another vehicle Friday night, according to the Kearney Hub.
The accident happened on U.S. Highway 6 south of Holdrege sometime before 10:20 p.m. The Nebraska State Patrol said 36-year-old Colter Bronstad was driving a Suburban east when he crossed over the center line and struck an ambulance that was headed west.
Bronstad, a Holdrege resident, was declared dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger in the ambulance were taken to an area hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities said there were no patients in the ambulance, which was from Priority Medical Transport.
