Crash alert: Victims identified in deadly Cass County highway wreck
UNION, NE – Authorities have identified the victims of a deadly collision in Cass County Sunday night, reports KTIV.
This is an update to a previous story.
The accident happened on Highway 75 near Union, when investigators said the driver of a Chevrolet pickup going north crossed over the center line and crashed into a southbound Chevrolet Cobalt at about 7:16 p.m.
Four people in the Cobalt were killed, two adults and two children. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office identified the adults as the driver, 21-year-old Ashly Bracken, and 22-year-old Tatiyana Wade. The children who died were ages 4 and 5. Another passenger in the Cobalt was critically injured. All five were residents of Topeka, Kansas.
The driver of the pickup, 55-year-old Ronald Dubas of La Vista, Nebraska, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was treated at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
The accident remains under investigation.
