Crash alert: 16-year-old driver injured in Stanton County car crash
PILGER, NE – Officials said a 16-year-old driver was injured when his car crashed on Highway 275 over the weekend.
News Channel Nebraska reports the accident occurred Saturday on Highway 275 about three miles west of Pilger in Stanton County.
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said the teen’s inexperience at driving and the speed he was going were contributing factors in the crash. According to investigators, he was trying to slow down for stopped traffic on the highway when he lost control of the car. The vehicle then went into a ditch and rolled.
The driver was hospitalized in Norfolk, where he was reported to be recovering from his injuries.
