Crash alert: 4 injured in collision between pickup and horse-drawn buggy on Highway 20
ORCHARD, NE – State troopers say an accident involving a pickup truck and a horse-drawn buggy in Antelope County sent four people to the hospital.
According to the Kearney Hub, the incident happened last Wednesday as both vehicles were traveling west on U.S. Highway 20 about two miles west of Orchard.
The Nebraska State Patrol said a couple and their infant daughter who were riding in the buggy were injured. Elva Mae Otto was seriously injured and flown to University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for treatment. Calvin Otto and the child were taken to Antelope Memorial Hospital, where their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
A 16-year-old boy who was driving the pickup sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, and was transported to Avera St. Anthony Hospital in O’Neill.
Authorities are continuing their investigation of the incident.
