Crash alert: Driver injured when car slams into barrier in Omaha
OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Police Department reported that officers were on the scene of a single-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning.
Police said 22-year-old Jacob Whaley was driving a Mazda MZ3 sedan westbound on Abbott Drive when the accident occurred sometime before 1:35 a.m. According to investigators, Whaley failed to negotiate a curve in the road at Riverfront Drive and struck a concrete jersey barrier nearly head-on.
Whaley, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center with injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening. No one else was in the car.
Police said alcohol use is suspected at this time.
